Time-Wasting Outrage! Brighton Boss Slams Arsenal – Have You Ever Seen A Keeper Go Down 3 Times In One Game?!

In the 29th round of the Premier League, Brighton lost 0-1 to Arsenal at home. Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler spoke to Camel Live after his side’s Premier League defeat against Arsenal.

Fabian, how would you describe what we saw from Brighton tonight?

A really good performance. We created a lot of chances, but we missed some of them. Then we gave away a soft goal, so we’re very disappointed with the result. But the players’ effort, the effort from my team, was really good. The fans were brilliant today, they supported us incredibly, so of course we’re disappointed.

You could have had a penalty just before half-time – did you watch it back?

Yes.

I saw you speaking to the referee when you came out for the second half. Did he explain why it wasn’t given? Did he give you any explanation?

No. I think in the end we have to accept the decision. What matters more to me is that he could have handled other things much better. Overall, the Premier League needs to find rules for this, because I think what Arsenal were doing there wasn’t football at all. So that’s the point I made to him.

When you say “handle other things”, what exactly do you mean – what did we see tonight?

I think everyone saw it, so everyone has to have their own opinion. I said before the game that I don’t think we should talk too much about this now. We should focus more on the good performance we put in tonight.

On that issue, what potential ways do you think could change this?

More yellow cards during the match for things like time-wasting. I know I can ask you: have you ever seen a goalkeeper go down three times in a single match? Not very often, I imagine. So I think that’s the issue.
